Greek mythology has no single canonical family tree or definitive version of every story.
Multiple ancient traditions
Greek myths were transmitted across many centuries, regions and literary traditions. Different ancient authors sometimes give the same figure different parents, children, partners, origins or fates.
Mythos Kosmos therefore does not treat every apparent contradiction as an error. Where important traditions differ, alternative relationships or explanatory notes may be retained.
Genealogy
The interactive family tree is a navigable reconstruction intended to help visitors understand the relationships between mythological figures.
It should not be interpreted as a claim that ancient Greeks recognised one universally agreed genealogy.
Stories
Myth summaries combine the principal surviving traditions into readable introductions. Significant variations are noted where they materially affect the interpretation of a myth.
Ancient sources
The project draws on surviving Greek and Roman literary traditions. Source links will be expanded progressively as Mythos Kosmos develops.
