The Story

But Actaeon had seen something a mortal was not permitted to see.
Artemis transformed him into a stag.
Actaeon remained conscious of who he was, but his human body and voice were gone.
His own hunting dogs caught his scent.
They did not recognise their master.
Actaeon attempted to call to them, but only the sounds of a frightened animal emerged.
The dogs attacked.
The hunter who had spent his life pursuing animals was torn apart by his own pack.
The reversal is complete.
